According to Foursquare, I checked in at various locations exactly 300 times.
The day-of-week data is not surprising. I’m guessing most people would have an increased number of check-ins over the weekend. Sunday is higher than the rest because for the first half of the year I was checking in at least twice almost every week: once for Frisbee and once for after-Frisbee dinner. I haven’t been to Frisbee in several months (which I plan to correct in 2011), or the total would be even higher. I can’t explain the jump on Tuesday.
The hour-of-day is a little off because I didn’t realize until after I made the graph that it’s in GMT. Shift the graph five hours to the left (earlier) to convert to Eastern Time where the vast majority of check-ins occurred.
I don’t have enough data from 2009 to make any year-over-year comparisons. Something to look forward to in 2011.

According to records from Mint, I spent less in 2010 than I did in 2009.
The orange bars above show the change in spending per month, compared to the same month in 2009. So in January 2010, I apparently spent almost 60% less than I did in 2009.
The dotted blue line shows the change in total annual spending, illustrating a 10% decline in total spending from 2009 to 2010. This actual number will change slightly, since it does not include the last four or five days of December 2010.
This was a surprise for me: I feel like I spent more in 2010 than I did in 2009. I’m not sure how much I trust these figures because Mint is kind of weird sometimes, and I’ve manipulated some of the transactions throughout my usage of the service. On the other hand, maybe the data set is large enough that even if the exact figures aren’t reliable the trend is?
The final takeaway is that I would like to reduce my spending by another 10% in 2011.

I uploaded fewer photos to Flickr in 2010 than any previous year.
The only year that comes close is 2005, but that year only includes March through December.
I would like to attribute the decline to me being more selective about which photos I upload, but my iPhoto library tells another story:
Photos in my library dated…
2008: 1,743
2009: 1,479 (a 15% decline)
2010: 623 (a 68% decline)
I’m embarrassed. I must do better in 2011.
According to Dopplr, here are the cities I visited during 2010 (new locations are in bold):
Total trips: 11
Total locations: 10
New locations: 5
Footnotes
For the purposes of this list, a visit is defined as an overnight stay.
Technically I stayed in Vancouver, Washington, for one of the Portland trips, but my intent was a visit to Portland.
According to Last.fm, here are the artists I listened to the most during the past 12 months:
