Tweets of 2010
According to Twitter, I tweeted most often in May and unsurprisingly, most often in the afternoon and early evening.
What surprises me is that there is at least one tweet for every hour of the day. What did I tweet at 3 a.m.? I was complaining about restaurants that don’t list their hours on the front page of their websites. If I remember correctly, I was working late and trying to find...

Foursquare check-ins of 2010, part 2
CORRECTION: The first version of this post was based on figures calculated from the wrong starting location. All data have since been corrected.
According to Foursquare, I generally stay pretty close to home, except when I go pretty far away.
The chart above shows the number of check-ins at different ranges of distances in miles. The first bar shows that I checked in 12 times at locations less...

Foursquare check-ins of 2010
According to Foursquare, I checked in at various locations exactly 300 times.
The day-of-week data is not surprising. I’m guessing most people would have an increased number of check-ins over the weekend. Sunday is higher than the rest because for the first half of the year I was checking in at least twice almost every week: once for Frisbee and once for after-Frisbee dinner. I...

Spending of 2010
According to records from Mint, I spent less in 2010 than I did in 2009.
The orange bars above show the change in spending per month, compared to the same month in 2009. So in January 2010, I apparently spent almost 60% less than I did in 2009.
The dotted blue line shows the change in total annual spending, illustrating a 10% decline in total spending from 2009 to 2010. This actual number will...

Photo uploads of 2010
I uploaded fewer photos to Flickr in 2010 than any previous year.
The only year that comes close is 2005, but that year only includes March through December.
I would like to attribute the decline to me being more selective about which photos I upload, but my iPhoto library tells another story:
Photos in my library dated… 2008: 1,743 2009: 1,479 (a 15% decline) 2010: 623 (a 68% decline)

Square Signals: Work Dilation →
So I started keeping a detailed log of my practice. Time records help me find my big time sinks, and notes keep me focused on the few measures that need work when I return the next day. I really do get more done now in half or a third the time!
